Spring 2009 animes [Edited]

Ok, it's time for another big season for new animes. It's sad to see some of great animes ending by this week(like Gundam 00) but I have a feeling the upcoming season will be as decent as previous few seasons. Anyway here's the list of what I'm planning to watch/try.

Highly anticipated:
Basquash!
Pandora Hearts

Mildly anticipated:
Full Metal Alchemist 2
Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~
Dogs (OVA)

Somewhat interested:
Valkyria Chronicles
Before Green Gables
Polyphonica Crimson S
Sengoku Basara

Might give a try if good:
Arad Senki
Guin Saga
Shin Mazinger Impact! Z-Chapter
Tears to Tiara

...but I'm kinda behind on most of animes I've been watching lately so better catch up on those too... ^_^;

Honey & Clover

(Spoilers and fangirlism included...)

I recently finished watching both seasons of Honey&Clover and I must say I absolutely loved this series. It's been a while since I watched a series, where almost every episode was satisfying. (except, maybe one or two eps?) Honey&Clover is basically a josei series.(series mainly aimed at older ladies) The story mainly revolves around students at art college as well as their everyday lives. It has love-triangles like many other josei or shoujo series do but it's also got one of the most solid character dramas & scripts. 1 thing I really liked about this series is that the characters in this series are easy to relate to. You know when you are around early 20's, I think almost everyone thinks about such things like "what will I be able to do...?" or "what will I become of...?" Also the monologues of the characters in this series are so thought-provoking especially Takemoto-kun's. It also doesn't follow usual routes that most shoujo or josei series take, which was also refreshing to see.

Anyway~ here are my top 3 characters of this series: (I love almost every characters but just gonna list 3 since I don't wanna attach too many screen captures...)

#3 - Morita Kaoru

Kaoru nii-sama is wonderful. He is admirable, smart, handsome and determined. I just find his character respectable for many reasons. (For me, Kaoru nii-sama>>>>>>>>>>Shinobu) I think they did a very good character development for him in the 2nd season.

#2 - Nomiya Takumi

Because Nomiya-san is....well, just hawt. He is like one of those perfect boyfriend type guys in shoujo mangas. I also liked the fact that he was patient enough to not dump Yamada. (I personally found Yamada's emoing in 2nd season tiring but good thing she did not reject Nomiya-san ^O^) I guess ep 19 of the 1st season was a big strike~!(imitating Lavi from D.Gray-man) for me to fall for this guy. Hehe... I also loved his confession scene.

#1 - Takemoto Yuuta

I heart Takemoto-kun not just because he was adorable (Takemoto-kun kawaiiyo Takomoto-kun!) throughout the whole seasons but also because he's got the heart of gold. Also Takemoto-kun's personality is kinda similar to me in many ways but I really admire his kind-hearted character. It's too bad that he didn't end up with Hagu-chan(but I believe she did love Takemoto too~ She just chose to be with Shuu-chan for now) and I was actually slightly mad at Morita Shinobu for constantly taking Hagu's attention. (don't get me wrong, I like Shinobu-kun as a character too)
I hope Takemoto-kun gets a happy life in the future~ ^O^

So I highly recommend this series to almost anyone who likes good drama/slice of life series. Those who are used to like usual routes of shoujo/josei series might not like this one though. (just an opinion)

...and at last,

Takemoto x Hagu 4EVER! ^O^
